Why isn't my business showing up on Google Maps?

If neighbors cannot find you on Maps, it is rarely “SEO magic.” It is usually the Google Business Profile, a mismatch in name, address, or phone, or a site Google cannot read.

Check the profile first

Claim the listing. Set it as a service-area business if you do not want the street address public. Put the towns and regions you actually serve. Primary category should match the work — for a web shop, that is often Website designer.

Make the name, phone, and email match

Maps, the site footer, Bing, and Apple Business Connect should say the same thing. Mixed emails and a placeholder phone number confuse the listing and your customers.

Give Google a real page to read

If your homepage is an empty box until JavaScript runs, some crawlers never see the words. The page needs a heading, copy, and a canonical URL in the HTML the server sends.

We do this work as part of local SEO and as a one-time audit. Ask about an audit.
